San Leandro, California, to install 270 LED streetlight fixtures from BetaLED

The city of San Leandro, California, has completed a competitive bidding process and is prepared to launch its first large scale LED streetlight installation. The city received funds totaling $83,320 from the US Department of Energy’s Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant (EECBG) program. The EECBG awards are locally administered by the California Energy Commission (CEC). San Leandro is also participating in the Pacific Gas and Electric (PG&E) energy efficient streetlight rebate program.

Initially, city officials hoped to purchase and install up to 150 energy efficient LED streetlight fixtures with the EECBG award and PG&E incentives.
