City of Shasta Lake, California, issues RFP for 615 LED streetlights

The City of Shasta Lake, California, has received funding from the California Energy Commission (CEC) for the city’s first major installation of LED streetlights. The city requested $475,000 for the proposed installation of energy efficient LED streetlight fixtures, but was awarded approximately $450,000 for the project. The CEC award, part of the US Department of Energy’s Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant (EECBG) program, will be used to replace all of the city’s existing streetlights.

Santa Ana, California, seeks bids for 1,123 LED streetlights

The city of Santa Ana, California, has issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) for the purchase and installation of LED streetlights. This project is the city’s second installation of energy efficient streetlight fixtures and is funded by the On-Bill Financing Program through Southern California Edison. In the proposed project, the city will replace 1,123 existing cobrahead streetlights with LED streetlight fixtures located at signalized intersections.

Haverhill, Massachusetts, seeks bids for purchase and installation of decorative LED streetlights

The city of Haverhill, Massachusetts, has issued an Invitation for Bid (IFB) for the purchase and installation of LED streetlights and fixtures. The city initiated a streetlight management program in 2011 to assess cost savings and energy management through conversion to LED streetlight technology and during that time used federal funds to install over one hundred new LED streetlights. The upcoming project is focused on replacing approximately sixty existing high pressure sodium (HPS) streetlights with decorative post-top LED streetlight fixtures.
