Lower Southampton Township, Pennsylvania, issues RFP for 300 LED streetlights

The Township of Lower Southampton, Pennsylvania, has issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) for the purchase and installation of up to three hundred LED streetlights. The Township project is funded by a grant through the Reinvestment Development Authority Casino Grant (RDACG). Funds for the grants are generated from electronic game and slot machine revenue from regional casinos. The Lower Southampton LED streetlight project is valued at approximately $250,000.

Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, seeks to pre-qualify vendors for potential 37,000 streetlight installation

The Halifax Regional Municipality (HRM), a regional municipality including the cities of Halifax, Dartmouth, and Bedord, Nova Scotia, and the former county of Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, has issued a Request for Pre-Qualification (RFPQ) for LED streetlight luminaires to be installed on municipal roadways. The purpose of the RFPQ is to review and pre-qualify selected LED manufacturers’ products for an upcoming installation. The HRM currently owns and maintains approximately 37,000 streetlights. The municipality’s plans include replacement all of its existing high intensity discharge (HID) lamps with LED streetlight luminaires.

Lancaster, New York, issues RFP for 29 BetaLED/Cree LED streetlight fixtures

The town of Lancaster, New York, has issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) for the purchase and installation of LED streetlight fixtures. The project is scheduled to replace all of the existing streetlight fixtures in Westwood Park. The area’s existing streetlight fixtures are 400 watt metal halide fixtures. The total number of LED streetlights planned for this installation is 29.

Brentwood, California, issues RFP for 467 LED streetlights

The city of Brentwood, California, has issued a Request for Proposals for the city’s first phase conversion of streetlights to LED technology. The project is part of the city’s 2012 Capital Improvement Program (CIP) and is funded by the city’s general fund. The Brentwood CIP addresses the infrastructure needs of the city for the next five years. The upcoming installation of LED streetlights is a first phase project. The total amount of funding allocated to the project is $250,000.

San Leandro, California, issues bid for 290 BetaLED/Cree LED streetlights

The city of San Leandro, California, has issued an Invitation for Bids (IFB) for the purchase of LED streetlights. Initial plans involve the purchase of 290 fixtures for installation on city roadways. The new, energy efficient streetlight fixtures will be used to replace existing high pressure (HPS) streetlights. The city plans on purchasing 173 Type II LED fixtures and 117 Type II LED fixtures manufactured by BetaLED/Cree of Sturtevant, Wisconsin.
