In response to requests from municipal customers, Central Hudson Power, an electric utility in the mid-Hudson River Valley of New York, has issued a revised rate tariff for LED streetlight fixtures. The New York Public Services Commission approved the plan for the revised tariff in November 2010. Several communities in the Central Hudson Power service area have expressed an interest in installing the energy efficient streetlight technology, including Poughkeepsie, New York, which is testing LED streetlights in a pilot program.
