Lawrence, Kansas, to use $209,000 EECBG award for LED streetlights
The city of Lawrence, Kansas, plans to install LED streetlights in its downtown areas using money awarded by a federal grant program. City officials plan to upgrade existing, decorative streetlights in downtown Lawrence with LED fixtures. The project’s funding comes from a $209,000 award from the U.S. Department of Energy’s Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant (EECBG) program. The installation of up to one hundred LED streetlights will be located primarily on Massachusetts Street with a few fixtures installed on New Hampshire Street.
