Riverhead, New York, has issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) for sixty-six LED post-top luminaires. The RFP is part of Riverhead’s first deployment of LED streetlights. The initiative aligns with the town’s goals of reducing both energy consumption and costs in the community. In late 2011, the town council assessed solid-state lighting technology and determined that when resources became available, the city’s goal would be to consider changing all of the Riverhead’s streetlights to LEDs.
