The city of Newberry, Florida, seeks bidders for a small deployment of LED streetlights, which will be installed by the city’s municipal utility. The energy efficient streetlight nitiative is funded by the US Department of Energy’s Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant (EECBG) program and is locally administered by the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services Office of Energy. The EECBG award is part of nearly $19 million of formula-based grants awarded to small cities and counties in Florida. Plans for Newberry include the purchase of at least 20 LED streetlights.
