California Energy Commission evaluates LED streetlight proposals valued at nearly $2 million

The California Energy Commission (CEC) is reviewing proposals, submitted by California cities and counties, for funding requests focused on LED streetlight installations. The proposals, which are evaluated on a first come, first served basis, are for a second round of Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant (EECBG) awards. The EECBG awards are funded by a grant from the US Department of Energy. Although funds have not been officially allocated, the state of California expects to award the grants in July 2012.
