Chattanooga, Tennessee, approves measure to replace city’s streetlights with LED fixtures

The city council of Chattanooga, Tennessee, approved a measure to replace most of the city’s streetlights with energy efficient LED streetlight fixtures. The approved measure, which will be implemented in phases, will eventually result in the replacement of 27,000 streetlights. The first phase of the project, valued at about $6 million, will target approximately 5,200 existing fixtures for replacement. An exclusive contract for services was awarded to local manufacturer, Global Green Lighting.
