Robertsdale, Alabama, was recently awarded a grant from the Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs (ADECA), which will be used toward the city’s first deployment of energy efficient streetlighting. The award is part of the U.S. Department of Energy’s Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant (EECBG) program. The city of Robertsdale intends to purchase and install approximately 120 LED streetlight fixtures using the $90,000 grant.

Rossford, Ohio, issues RFP for decorative LED streetlights
Funded by an award from the US Department of Energy, the city of Rossford, Ohio, seeks proposals as the first step in the city’s initial LED streetlight installation. The city of Rossford received a grant totaling $210,474 for energy efficient projects, which include efforts involving LED streetlights, traffic and pedestrian signal heads and school zone flashers. The grant is provided through an Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant (EECBG) and is locally administered by the Ohio Department of Development. A portion of the EECBG grant will be used to purchase and install eleven new LED streetlights and poles.

Ceres, California, to use CEC loan to purchase 2,200 BetaLED streetlights
The city council of Ceres, California, appoved the use of a low interest loan from the California Energy Commission (CEC) for the purchase of LED streetlight fixtures earlier this week. The loan will allow the city of Ceres to convert all city-owned streetlights to LED streetlight fixtures. Funds totaling $1.193 million will be used to purchase and install over two thousand LED streetlight fixtures manufactured by BetaLED, a division of Ruud Lighting/Cree of Sturtevant, Wisconsin.
