Funded by an award from the US Department of Energy, the city of Rossford, Ohio, seeks proposals as the first step in the city’s initial LED streetlight installation. The city of Rossford received a grant totaling $210,474 for energy efficient projects, which include efforts involving LED streetlights, traffic and pedestrian signal heads and school zone flashers. The grant is provided through an Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant (EECBG) and is locally administered by the Ohio Department of Development. A portion of the EECBG grant will be used to purchase and install eleven new LED streetlights and poles.

Dublin, Ohio, plans to purchase 1,500 LED streetlights in 2012
Following a successful pilot installation of LED streetlights, the city of Dublin, Ohio, is planning for a full replacement of all 1,500 city streetlights with LED fixtures. The pilot program included the installation and evaluation of fixtures manufactured by BetaLED, a division of Ruud Lighting/Cree of Sturtevant, Wisconsin, and Kim Lighting of City of Industry, California. The LED fixtures were installed on Coffman Road during a three month trial period. Fixtures were evaluated for performance and input was solicited from citizens. According to city officials, citizen response was overwhelmingly positive.
