Island of Hawai’i to install 1,000 LED streetlights and investigates use of smart controls
The city council of the island of Hawai’i has passed an ordinance that permits the installation of LED streetlighting in signalized intersections and crosswalks on city and county roadways. The first phase project involves the installation of approximately 1,000 new LED fixtures, approximately 200 more fixtures than the original conversion plans for 800 streetlights.
