The city of Tanana, Alaska, has been awarded $20,000 in federal stimulus funds for energy efficiency projects. This formula grant, from the Department of Energy’s Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant (EECBG) program, is administered locally by the Alaska Energy Authority (AEA) and will be used to purchase approximately twenty-two LED streetlight fixtures. Tanana currently owns and maintains thirty eight existing high pressure sodium (HPS) streetlights.
