The city of Muscatine, Iowa, has been awarded $92,256 from the Department of Energy’s Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant (EECBG) program. The award is locally administered by the Iowa Office of Energy Independence (OEI). Muscatine city officials plan to replace roughly three hundred twenty existing high pressure sodium (HPS) cobra head streetlights with LED streetlight fixtures. The project will be implemented by Muscatine Power and Water, a municipal utility.
