Yuba City, California, will soon seek bidders for a large scale deployment of LED streetlights. By using a low interest loan of $1,345,487 from the California Energy Commission (CEC), Yuba City will be able to perform a city-wide conversion of its existing high pressure sodium (HPS) streetlights to energy efficient LED fixtures. Upon city council approval, city officials expect the loan to be executed in September 2011.
