The San Francisco Public Utilities Commission (SFPUC) of the city of San Francisco, California, is planning to implement a pilot project to test wireless control and communications systems for LED streetlights. This pilot project will be used to assess the potential of adaptive controls in conjunction with LED streetlights and other devices, as part of the city’s large-scale plan to convert 18,500 high pressure sodium (HPS) streetlights to LED streetlights.
