Fairbanks, Alaska, issues RFP for 800 LED streetlights

The Alaska Department of Transportation has issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) for a large-scale deployment of LED streetlights for the cities of Fairbanks and North Pole, Alaska. The project is funded by the state Department of Transportation and Public Facilities and has an estimated value of $1.5 million.  The project involves the conversion of 800 high pressure sodium (HPS) cobrahead streetlights to LED cobrahead streetlights within the Fairbanks Metropolitan Area Transportation System (FMATS) area.
