Greenville, North Carolina, issues RFP for LED streetlights

The city of Greenville, North Carolina has issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) for the purchase of cobra-head style LED streetlights.

The pilot project is funded by an award from an Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant (EECBG), a funding program established by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. The EECBG grant is locally administered by the North Carolina State Energy Program. The project involves the replacement of existing high pressure sodium (HPS) streetlights with comparable LED streetlight fixtures. Initial plans include the purchase of at least thirty-five LED fixtures.
