The city of Asheville, North Carolina has re-issued a Request for Formal Bids and Proposals for the purchase of 2,793 new LED streetlights. The LED streetlights are part of a larger city-wide initiative to increase energy efficiency and reduce the city of Asheville’s carbon footprint. Long-term goals include replacement of all of the city’s 8,300 existing high pressure sodium (HPS) and mercury vapor streetlights.
