During the first week of December, the city of Washington, Indiana, started the installation of over three hundred LED streetlights as part of a project funded by the Indiana Municipal Power Agency (IMPA). IMPA was awarded $5 million from the Department of Energy’s Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant (EECBG) program for the purchase and installation of LED streetlights for its member communities. The city of Washington is installing 315 LED streetlight fixtures manufactured by GE.
