17 Michigan cities get $2 million for LED streetlight projects

Seventeen cities and counties in Michigan have been awarded approximately $2 million in federal funds to be used for LED streetlight demonstration projects. The stimulus funds are Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grants (EECBG) from the US Department of Energy. The cities and counties have been allocated their awards but have not yet issued RFPs, which are likely to be issued mid-year 2010.
