City of Shasta Lake, California, issues RFP for 615 LED streetlights

The City of Shasta Lake, California, has received funding from the California Energy Commission (CEC) for the city’s first major installation of LED streetlights. The city requested $475,000 for the proposed installation of energy efficient LED streetlight fixtures, but was awarded approximately $450,000 for the project. The CEC award, part of the US Department of Energy’s Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant (EECBG) program, will be used to replace all of the city’s existing streetlights.

Pontiac, Michigan, seeks bids for 220 LED streetlights

The city of Pontiac, Michigan, has issued two requests for proposals (RFP) for the purchase and installation of LED streetlights. The RFPs were issued in two phases, one for the purchase of the LED streetlight fixtures, and one for labor and installation. The project is funded by a grant from the US Department of Energy’s Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant (EECBG) program. The city was initially awarded $683,800, of which a portion will be used for the LED streetlight project.

Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada, seeks bidders for LED streetlight program

The city of Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada, has issued a Request for Quotations (RFQ) for the establishment of an LED streetlighting program. The city seeks a vendor to supply and install LED streetlights for currently designed projects, as well as identify a supplier for future LED streetlight installations. The term of the RFQ include a one year term with a one year option to supply LED streetlight fixtures. Initially, the goal is to replace 4,652 existing high pressure sodium (HPS) streetlights with LED cobrahead luminaires and install 184 new LED fixtures throughout the city.

San Antonio, Texas, approves purchase of 25,000 LED streetlights from GreenStar

The city council of San Antonio, Texas, recently approved the replacement of 25,000 existing streetlights with energy efficient LED streetlight fixtures. The city’s streetlights are owned and operated by municipal utility, CPS Energy. The project implementation time is expected to be about eighteen months and will be focused on the city’s central business district and major thoroughfares. An exclusive contract for the supply of the LED streetlights was awarded to local San Antonio-based  GreenStar.

Richmond, California, issues LED streetlight bid valued at $1.2 million and specifies BetaLED, LED Roadway, and Philips Lumec fixtures

The city of Richmond, California, has issued a Request for Bids for a capital improvement project focused on the installation of energy efficient LED streetlights. The project includes the removal of existing high pressure sodium (HPS) streetlights and the installation of approximately 760 LED streetlight luminaires on the city’s roadways. A total of 750 LED cobrahead fixtures and 10 decorative LED fixtures will be installed. The project value is estimated at $1.26 million.
