The city of Kerman, California, expects to launch a full scale replacement of all city-owned streetlights with LED streetlight fixtures before the end of 2011. The city’s streetlight conversion efforts will be funded by an award of $72,000 from US Department of Energy’s Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant (EECBG) program and a $202,000 low interest loan from the California Energy Commission (CEC). The combined funds will enable the city of Kerman to replace all 718 city-owned streetlights with the energy efficient LED fixtures.
