Gothenburg, Nebraska, awarded $257,600 for LED streetlight project

The city of Gothenburg, Nebraska is a confirmed recipient of an Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant (EECBG) to be used for the installation of four hundred fifty LED streetlights. The EECBG award, funded by the US Department of Energy, is in the amount of $206,080. The city of Gothenburg is providing matching funds of $51,520. The LED streetlight deployment, which will be located primarily in Gothenburg’s residential areas, is expected to be initiated in Winter 2010.
